THE MODULARIUM โ† back to the synth

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-04-22

The Modularium is a browser-based modular synthesiser at modularium.co.uk, operated by Simon Fletcher.

Summary

  • The app runs entirely in your browser. All audio and patching is client-side.
  • No tracking cookies. No third-party advertising inside the app.
  • If you sign in, we store your email address and minimal session data to manage your Pro access.
  • Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your card details.

Information you provide

The synth itself doesn't transmit your patches or audio anywhere. If you are signed in as a Pro user, saved patches are synced to our server so you can access them on other devices.

Accounts & authentication

If you buy Modularium Pro we create an account keyed on your email address and a randomly generated user ID. Sign-in is passwordless: we email you a short one-time code, and a secure session is established in your browser that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days.

Your account keeps a record of recently-used devices to enforce a concurrent-device limit. Signing out releases the current device.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe on behalf of Simon Fletcher. Charges will appear on your bank statement as SPACESTREAM.COM. When you make a purchase, your payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe. We do not see, store, or have access to your full card number. We receive only a confirmation of payment, your email address, and a Stripe customer ID to manage your subscription.

Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data: stripe.com/privacy.

Sign-in emails

One-time sign-in codes are sent from noreply@modularium.co.uk. The email contains only your code and an expiry notice. The code is short-lived and is discarded once used or after its expiry.

Google Ads conversion tracking

When you complete a purchase, the success page loads the Google Ads conversion tag (gtag.js) so we can attribute paid signups to ads. This fires only on the post-purchase return page, not during normal use of the synth. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy.

Cookies

We set a single cookie to keep you signed in if you have a Pro account. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.

Analytics

We do not run a separate product analytics tool on this site. Basic infrastructure logs record things like request counts and errors; they are retained only as long as needed to run the service.

Data retention

Account data (email, user ID, session list) is retained while your account exists. Saved patches are retained while you have a Pro subscription. If you cancel and ask us to delete them, we will.

Your rights (UK/EU GDPR)

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal data we hold about you by emailing privacy@modularium.co.uk.

Security

Reasonable measures are taken to protect the service, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Changes

This policy may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest version.
